Membership in the Metro Music Forum affords numerous opportunities for teacher and student including monthly student recitals held the 1st Saturday of most months at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, the January Theory Examinations and Masterclass.
Additionally, members of MMF/AMTA may participate in the April Pre-College District Solo Auditions, and qualifying students, ages 10 and above, may participate in the May AMTA State Solo and Concerto Auditions. Students who win at the state level are invited to perform on one of the "Winner's Recitals" held during the June State Teachers Conference.
Member in AMTA/MTNA may also participate in several additional auditions at the state and national level as well as receive the very informative monthly MTNA periodical, American Music Teacher .
